Historical NameHenry Ford
Henry Ford was a inventor and major historical figure. In the 1920's he was the creator of the Model-T and invented the conveyor belt. Overall he was the mastermind of the idea of mass production. He made a huge difference in our world and made a huge step in society. Society always looked up to him and even today. In the article "History is bunk" by University of Massachusetts Press they share Fords significance and how he didn't want to flaunt major heroes or inventors as they were apart of life. After his museum was made Ford said, "It was written history’s focus on politicians and military heroes that was bunk." Karl Marx Karl Marx was a philosopher, journalist, economist and sociologist. He was a German thinker in the 19th century who developed his theory and ways of society. His belief was understood as Marxism which was the lifestyle of struggling through ruling class and working class. Vladimir Lenin Vladimir Lenin, in the late 19th century, was a famous Russian communist. He was the leader of the Bolshevik Revolution and was creator of the State Union. He was the next biggest leader after Karl Marx. He combined with the views of Marx into the beliefs of Marxism-Leninism. They liked the idea of control and having power of the people to all be one. Herbert Hoover Herbert Hoover was the 31st President of the United States. He took office starting in 1929. As a president he followed all rules and accepted the ways of the society. He liked to quote others and use that to encourage and teach the people. |
Brave New WorldHenry Ford/Sigmund Freud
Ford is idolized in Brave New World. He is in other words known as there "deity". They praise him for his invention and for creating the conveyor belt. As a society, they use the conveyor belt daily to biologically create humans and refer to Ford as their God; which is the closest thing they have to a God. "You all remember, I suppose, that beautiful and inspired saying of Our Ford's: History is Bunk"(Huxley 40). Huxley shares how BNW uses this famous quote and it is still used today. It shares how we need to live in the moment and not the past. I believe it shares how we can not change our past, but we can change our future. Bernard Marx Bernard Marx was created from the historical person Karl Marx. Just like Karl, Bernard had an eager thirst to understand his society's ways and question how they lived. Bernard didn't always fully agree with the ways of his society and liked to ask questions. This was the same attitude as Karl. The two shared the same attribute of struggling to fit in their class. Lenina Crowne Lenina Crowne was made from the historical figure Vladimir Lenin. She had some of the same characteristics as Lenin had growing up. He normally gained views and ideas from others and made them bigger; for example taking and inhabiting Karl Marx views. This too was like Lenina she just followed what others did. Overall the two both used others and friends just to benefit themselves. Vladimir used Karl as Lenina used Bernard. Benito Hoover Benito Hoover was created after the President Herbert Hoover. Benito was just like to Herbert in his personality. He too always followed the ways of society and what it had to offer. Including Benito liked to quote others too. |
