About BNW:
Aldous Leonard Huxley was an English writer of his time. He lived during the late 1800's till the mid 1900's exploring his imagination in writing and philosophy. Huxley mainly wrote dystopian books and was known for the novel, Brave New World. Brave New World is a wonderful novel that makes people of our society feel a little uneasy. It is a controlled world with one government for the entire society. The idea of a family is absurd and not heard of. The size of the population is controlled and the creation of life is scientific and pre-determined. Five factions make-up the society as they are ranked from Alpha's, Beta's, Delta's, Gamma's and Epsilons. Each faction has a specific job and purpose in life and will only continue to do that. Including sexual pleasures start at a young age and are to be with whomever and whenever you want. There no real values or religions that occur. They have evolved into a brave new world. The real question is you might think this is all absurd, but is there anyway we are the Brave New World today? |
HistorianHuxley wrote Brave New World as a futuristic world he believed would occur someday. He used times of pain and war to create a world that would eliminate these. He wrote every character similar to someone that exists in the past and made their lives parallel to each other. If you pay attention closely everything connects somehow.

Science and TechnologyHuxley explores the life of science and technology to get a real understanding of the new world. He goes into detail of the process of the recreation of life. He describes how each person is processed to behave in certain ways and their purpose in the new world. One doesn't have full control over their mind or emotions.

Anthropology & PropagandaBrave New World is so different, yet similar to us today. But how? Exploring the culture of the Brave New World you learn about a completely different culture we are use to. It might make one feel uncomfortable and uneasy as it is not considered normal to us. Huxley learned about his society and culture and wrote this book as what he though it would look like one day. The use of propaganda helps control the new world and make society all act the same way.
